Hottest sale 4.8*1 SmCo magnet
Samarium cobalt magnet
Samarium cobalt magnet is mainly made of Cobalt, Samarium and other rare earth elements. The second generation of
Rare Earth magnet material, have high magnetic properties, excellent thermal stability and resistant to corrosion.
Compared with NdFeB, It doesn’t need to be coated. It can typically be used up to 300 °C. Therefore, it is used in
those fields, that applications demand resistance to wide range temperature and environments. However, It is
extremely brittle and should not be used a structural component in an assembly. Smco magnets are manufactured
by sintering or compression bonding. They are anisotropic and can only be magnetized in the direction of orientation.
SmCo permanent magnets include SmCo5 and SmCo17 types. The physical characteristics of SmCo5 are better than
Sm2Co17's. Because SmCo5 is slightly easier to be machined, while Sm2Co17 is more brittle.
Applications of SmCo Magnet
Computer disc drives
Sensors
Radar
Traveling wave tubes
Satellite systems
Motors where temporary stability is vital
Attributes of SmCo Magnet
Expensive material (cobalt is market price sensitive
High resistance to demagnetization
High Energy Product
Good temperature stability
High resistance of corrosion and oxidation
